Power-Cache

LTO-5 1500GB Archive Server for Digital Media Professionals

  • Works with up to 4 tape drives in Library or External 1 RU chassis in any combination
  • 8TB of RAID NAS configureable for RAID0 speed or RAID5 protection
  • 10GB Ethernet networking for unsurpassed transfer speed
  • Separate SSD system drive for improved performance and reliability
  • Appliance approach for convenience and ease is a complete solution in two or three chassis

Cache-A's new Power-Cache model delivers 8TB of RAID, accessed as network attached storage (NAS) to provide a convenient central repository for your content to be archived. Whether you stage your data or drop it into the Cache-A virtual tape area, the fast and spacious hard disk storage at the front of the Power-Cache server architecture makes for easy and secure archiving.

LTO Tape drives can be added to any system in a stand-alone rack accessory or embedded into one of our automated Library options - 2 tape drives and 36TB of near-line capacity in the Library24 and up to 4 tape drives and 72TB of near-line capacity in our Library48 option.

Stand-alone drives in singles or pairs require just a one-RU rack module and allow you to access your shelf-stored content quickly and conveniently as well as providing an excellent location to leverage our high-speed LTO tape dubbing capability.

Because Power-Cache dedicates a separate solid-state drive (SSD) to run the operating system, archiving management and user interface, the full bandwidth of the RAID array is reserved for transferring your data at the highest speeds possible. And you can still direct attach additional storage devices via either eSATA or USB for the ultimate in flexibility.

Power-Cache's ability to control up to 4 tape drives concurrently (up to 2 at full speed) is enabled in part by the super speedy 10GB Ethernet connections (SFP+) ready to integrate into the fastest network backbones. Complemented with a high-performance 6 GB/s SAS interface card and a 3 GHz Quad Core processor, Power-Cache delivers the professional level of performance requested by our most demanding customers.
